First mobile application for young people's career guidance launched in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - A mobile application, through which people looking for jobs can get information helping them to find a suitable vacancy, was launched in Chisinau today. This is a first ever event in Moldova and the application can be accessed for free.
The new application, which represents an instrument of career guidance, especially for young people, was presented by the director of the National Employment Agency, Raisa Dogaru. By accessing the application, young people looking for jobs will cover more stages, referring, in particular, to the self-assessment of the beneficiary’s knowledge and abilities, identifying occupations fitting the knowledge of each young person, working out the CV, establishing techniques of seeking a vacant job, evaluation of offers and preparation for the employment interview.
A state secretary at the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, Anastasia Oceretnii, has said that the young people who spend much time while navigating on the Internet on mobile phones will be able to check, guided by curiosity, the skills they have and what occupation fit them the best.
A programme manager at the International Labour Organization, Violeta Vrabie, said that the new application would help young people identify their abilities and the sector where they can develop successful careers. According to Vrabie, the application was elaborated during one year and 18,000 dollars was spent for this.
In Moldova, four out of ten unemployed people, registered at the National Employment Agency, are young people with ages between 15 and 29 years. Since early 2018, about 4,000 young people have been employed. The most demanded jobs are in the agriculture sector, cook, seller of food and non-food products, needlewoman, hairdresser, plasterer, operator, technician.
