Moldovan, Romanian premiers consider joint priority projects

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Romanian PM Viorica Dancila met in Bucharest today, on the sidelines of a joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian cabinets. The officials highlighted the high level of the bilateral political dialogue, based on pragmatic approaches, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip appreciated, in particular, the support provided by Romania to Moldova to implement the reforms and continue the European integration. Referring to the forthcoming presidency of Romania at the European Union’s Council, Pavel Filip emphasized the determination to continue the democratic and pro-European course of Moldova.
In the context of the bilateral agenda, PMs Pavel Filip and Viorica Dancila appreciated the carrying out of successful joint projects on the social, cultural and humanitarian dimension: repair of kindergartens, donation of school buses, restoration of the Organ Hall, Art Museum and Hasdeu Theatre from Cahul. Filip expressed interest in the continuation of these projects.
At the same time, the officials said that, for a better rapprochement between the two countries, it is necessary to speed up projects on interconnection in the infrastructure of electronic communications, energy and transport. In this respect, the sides stressed the need to launch the second stage of the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline and starting projects on building bridges across the Prut river.
As for the easing of the border traffic, the two prime ministers reiterated the importance to coordinate the joint actions, including the synchronization of the number staff members of the customs and border police at crossing points, in order to avoid jams, especially before the winter holidays. Pavel Filip and Viorica Dancila confirmed interest in the carrying out of these projects, in the interest of the two countries’ citizens.
