Moldovan parliament adopts pensions' increase

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - The pensions set till 1 January 2019, the quantum of which does not exceed the subsistence minimum, will be increased by ten per cent. The parliament voted a draft law on additional financial support to some beneficiaries of pensions in the second reading today.

Under the document, the pensions established till 1 January 2019, and the quantum of which does not exceed the subsistence minimum of 1,589 lei, are increased by ten per cent.

According to the authors, following the changes, the age limit pensions will increase by an average of 115 lei, the disability pensions will grow by 101 lei on average and the pensions for seasoned military and members of their families will increase by an average of 123 lei.

The expenses will be borne from the state social insurances budget and the state budget.

The amendments will enter into force as of 1 January 2019.
