MDL slightly depreciates against main foreign reference currencies

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ – The national currency (MDL) will depreciate over upcoming three days against the main reference currencies, according to official exchange rates published by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) today.
Thus, the US dollar (USD) increases by MDL 0,02, up to MDL 17,15. The single European currency (EUR) adds MDL 0,05 and stops at level of MDL 19,58.
The Romanian leu (RON) will be more expensive in the next three days. It will be appreciated by MDL 0,02. Its value will be MDL 04,20. The Russian rouble (RUB) will add MDL 0,01. Its official price will be MDL 0,26.
Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) will remain at the level of MDL 0,61.
According to the BNM's data presented today, in October 2018, the coverage of the net demand of foreign currency by economic agents by the net foreign exchange offer of natural persons constituted 102.2 per cent, compared to 114.2 per cent in September 2018. In comparison with month – on – month, the net foreign currency supply from individuals fell by $5 million, while net foreign – exchange demand from business grew to $15.1 million. Also, the BNM made net purchases of $28.9 million on the local interbank market.
