Moldovan PM meets with head of Romanian senate

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ – The current topics on the Moldovan – Romanian agenda were discussed today in Bucharest during the meeting between Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and head of the Romanian Senate, Calin Popescu – Tariceanu, the government's communications and protocol department has reported.
The PM has said that Romania remains a strategic partner and a true friend of Moldova, as demonstrated by the constant support offered to Moldova in the realisation of the economic and social projects.
The officials noted the dynamic political dialogue, developed in the spirit of the Strategic Partnership for European Integration of Moldova, and the good cooperation between the Legislatures of both states, especially the work of the Interparliamentary Commission for European Integration. In this context, Pavel Filip expressed gratitude for the support of the Romanian Parliament for the European path of Moldova, underlining that European integration remains a major objective of Moldova.
Calin Popescu – Tariceanu was interested in the developments in domestic politics in Moldova, mentioning the need to continue the reforms, including those aimed at implementing the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova – EU. In this regard, the official stressed that Romania would pay more attention to Moldova in the dialogue with the EU member states in the context of taking over the presidency of the EU Council on 01 January 2019.
