Several emergency points for homeless people to be set up in Chisinau

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/- Several emergency points for homeless people affected by hypothermia will be arranged in the capital during the cold season. Local authorities have approved a mechanism for placement and granting medical and social assistance to people without permanent residence in the municipality.

According to Chisinau city hall, tents will be set up in each district.

At the same time, in winter, homeless people in the city will be provided, upon request, with temporary shelter at night and will be transported, if necessary, to the centre of hosting for homeless people. They will be given first aid and will receive breakfast and dinner. Applicants will also be provided with free lunch through the contribution of non-governmental organizations.

The centre’s deputy head, Natalia Leu, said that 50 people are currently housed in the centre. They are provided with food three times a day. The institution capacity is 100 seats.
