Moldovan poet launches ABC – book for preschoolers

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ – The National library for children Ion Creanga has hosted today the launch event of the ABC – book by poet Vasile Romanciuc, within the Days of institution, which are held this week.

Interviewed by agency, literary critic Maria Pilchin has mentioned that in that ABC – book there are poems that illustrate the letters and figures. "It is a very harmonious combination, a natural passage from letters to figures. Here they met in an interdisciplinary manner. The book is intended for the preschool cycle – for children in big group and preparatory group at the kindergarten," said Maria Pilchin.

In this context, deputy director of the National library for children Ion Creanga, Eugenia Bejan, said that children should be familiar with everything from book, story from early childhood, or even from birth. "By reading stories, they will know the words and the language better. Then they themselves invent stories. Every day, we should read lyrics and stories out loud to children. It is necessary for them to have the pleasure of the text, the reading," said Eugenia Bejan.

At his turn, poet Vasile Romanciuc has emphasised that it is a special book. "The ABC – book is one of the first books children open and therefore I think writing such a book is a great responsibility. The first books children read depend on what will happen to them as readers – they will read other books or stop there. I had a nice collaboration with the Publishing House Arc. The work is very well illustrated. It is a premiere for me because I wrote the lyrics, having first the illustrations. It is an attempt for me and I hope it to be done well," said Vasile Romanciuc.

At the event, children from kindergarten Auras – Pacuras presented a recital of lyrics from the ABC – book. The book is distributed in libraries and bookshops in Moldova.
