Price of health insurance policy to stay unchanged in Moldova in 2019

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The price of the health insurance policy will stay unchanged in 2019 and will be worth 4,056 lei, according to a draft on the mandatory health insurances accounts for the next year, passed by MPs in the first reading at a parliament meeting on 23 November.  

Under the draft, the revenues of the mandatory health insurance accounts for 2019 will be of 7,326 million lei, up by 8.8 per cent against the current ones. The quantum of the mandatory health insurances premiums was set in a volume of nine per cent. Half of this sum will be paid by the employee and another half – by the employer. The mandatory health insurances accounts for 2019 were estimated with a deficit worth 200 million lei.   

The lawmakers also adopted the draft law on state social insurances budget for 2019. According to the document, the revenues and expenses of the concerned budget will be of 21,427.4 million lei. About 60 per cent of all revenues will represent the social insurances contributions. The state social insurances budget is estimated without deficit. 

As much as 63.6 per cent of all expenses will be used for the social protection of elderly people, 13 per cent – for the social protection of persons with disabilities. Another about ten per cent will be spent for the protection of family and child.  

The draft’s authors proposed that the tariff of contributions set on 1 October 2018 be maintained. Thus, the tariff paid by the employers from the private sector will be of 18 per cent, the agriculture sector employers will pay 12 per cent and the tariff of individual contribution will be of six per cent. Private persons working on the basis of individual contract, signed with the National Social Insurances House, will pay 9,456 lei per year and the owners or lessees of farmlands – 2,412 lei for one year.    

The parliament is to pass the two drafts in the final reading.
