Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - A new kindergarten from the Besalma village (Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – UTA Gagauz-Yeri), opened in last November, will be extended, in order to be able to receive all children of pre-school age from this settlement.

„When we opened the new kindergarten, we set up six groups of children; yet, starting from 1 December, we will open another one, with 25 children, in order to be able to register all pre-school children,” the Besalma mayor, Valeri Mos, said, quoted by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.

„It is good that we have more children willing to attend the kindergarten; this means that more children are born and their parents choose to remain at home,” the autonomy’s authorities said.

The second pre-school institution from Besalma was built and arranged as a result of a partnership between the Comrat executive body, the village mayoralty, Embassy of the Czech Republic, Support of Agriculture and Rural Development in UTA Gagauz-Yeri and Taraclia District Programme, financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, Moldova’s Presidency.

The works for the kindergarten’s reconstruction started in 2016. During two years, the roof was changed, windows and doors were replaced, all rooms underwent capital repair, were endowed with new furniture, new bathrooms were set, etc. Once a new group opened, the institution will have 175 pre-school children.

According to the leadership of the Besalma village, for the next year, the local authorities have planed another project which sees the kindergarten’s energy optimization.
