Moldovan, Ukrainian premiers agree on more bilateral accords

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip has had a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Groysman during his working visit to Ukraine, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The prime ministers discussed up-to-date subjects on the agenda of the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations, stressing the openness for continuously boosting the bilateral dialogue in all sectors of mutual interest.

The two PMs highlighted the importance of a constructive interaction at the state border, including in order to organize joint control at the crossing points of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. In the context, the sides emphasized both states’ willingness to as soon as possible sign the protocols on joint control at eight border checkpoints.  

Pavel Filip and Volodymyr Groysman agreed on completing the process of enforcement of the protocol meant to settle the problem on the exceeding the term of 90 days of the stay of motor carriers on the territory of the two countries when carrying out the transport of passengers and goods. As for the joint infrastructure projects, the sides underlined the importance of opening the movement of vehicles on a bridge across the Dniester river nearby the settlements Unguri and Bronnitsya. The officials also referred to the construction of a new bridge Yampil-Cosauti across the Dniester river.   

The Moldovan and Ukrainian prime ministers exchanged opinions on ensuring the protection of the ecosystem and sustainable development of the Dniester river basin. The PMs ordered the organization, in the near future, of a meeting of the working groups on issues concerning the work of the Dnestrian Hydro-Power Complex.
