Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) today expressed “deep concern” about the tensions in the Sea of Azov and Kerch Strait.
MAEIE also informed that “Moldova reconfirmed the support and recognition of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the latter’s right to use international waters.”
In the context, the Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry condemned any kind of “aggression acts and provocations which undermine the regional security.”
The tensions between Ukraine and Russia sharply escalated on 25 November, when Kiev accused Russia of having hit a Ukrainian ship and of blocking access to the Sea of Azov, situated between Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014, and the Eastern Ukraine – a theatre of a war with pro-Russian separatists.
