OSCE Representative for Freedom of Press visits Moldova

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ – OSCE Representative on Freedom of Press, Harlem Desir, is paying a visit to Moldova on 27 – 30 November. During this meeting, he will meet with Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Broadcasting, Dragos Vicol, other political actors, management of Teleradio – Moldova, as well as mass media representatives and NGOs in the media.
According to a press release from the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Desir will also address a speech at the ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe for 2018 and will address Moldovan mass media in the Forum annual media on 29 November.
During his visit to Moldova, Desir aims to receive info from the first source on state politics on freedom of press, exchange views on recent developments on the freedom of mass media in Moldova and discuss the areas in which the Office of the OSCE Representative for Freedom of Press can provide assistance.
As part of his mandate, the OSCE Representative for Freedom of Press follows mass media developments in the 57 participating states of OSCE and promotes full respect for the principles and commitments of the Organisation with regard to freedom of expression and freedom of press.
