PM says in dialogue with European officials not to see any other way for Moldova than European path

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has met today with Director General of the European Commission for European Neighbourhood Policy (DG NEAR), Christian Danielsson, and Director-General of the European External Action Service for Europe and Central Asia (EEAS), Thomas Mayr Harting. The officials discussed the current state of relations between Moldova and EU and the objectives to be achieved, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM pointed out upon the importance of maintaining an open dialogue with European partners, noting that getting closer to EU has remained a governance priority. "We do not see another way for Moldova. The European Union is our only option. We have no other way, because we belong to the European area," said Pavel Filip.
The Premier also has said that the Government remains focused on implementing reforms and meeting the European agenda, and the progress in the economy and social field made so far. Also, Pavel Filip stressed the importance of the support of EU for further results in the process of reforming the key areas and modernising Moldova. In this context, the European officials have highlighted the need for further efforts to reform the justice sector, fight corruption and investigate bank fraud.
The parties also exchanged views on upcoming parliamentary elections. Pavel Filip has mentioned that the authorities will make every effort to ensure a free, fair and democratic electoral process.
