PM says Moldova condemns unilateral, provocative actions of Russia – supports authorities of Ukraine

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ – The situation in Ukraine was discussed today at a meeting convened by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, with the persons in charge in the field. On 26 November, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the introduction of the special legal regime in some regions of Ukraine, including Vinnitsa and Odessa – neighbourring regions with Moldova. President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, has signed the decree by which the state of war is being applied in Ukraine, starting 28 November morning, the government's communications and protocol department said.
Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, expressed his concern about the dramatic escalation of tensions between Moscow and Kiev. "The aggression acts of Russia affect the security in general in the region." Moldova condemned the unilateral and provocative actions of Russia, "We are with the authorities in Kiev, as we have always been, including in their efforts to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity," said Pavel Filip in a briefing after the meeting.
The PM mentioned that he talked with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Groysman, on the phone on 27 November, on the recent developments on this issue and assured him of all the support of Moldova. "The authorities in Chisinau are in constant contact with the Ukrainian ones. The work at border crossing points has not been affected. At this point, they are running normally. And the citizens of Moldova must know that there is no danger at this time, for the security of our country," said Pavel Filip.

In order to continuously monitor the situation and communicate about the conflict evolutions, it was created a working group led by deputy PM for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic. This group includes: representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), Ministry of Defence (MA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEIE), Office for Reintegration Policy (BR), Border Police (PF), Customs Service (SV) and Intelligence and Security Service (SIS).
