Economics minister confident Moldova to be on top of tourism destinations

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici has said that he was confident that, in the near future, Moldova would go up several positions in the most important rankings of tourism destinations. Gaburici made statements to this effect on the second day of the event Moldova Business Week.
Chiril Gaburici referred to Moldova’s tourism potential. “Moldova has a rich cultural heritage and together, we can turn in to good account even more. Moldova is associated with good wines, underground towns, hospitable people and tasty food, as well as an emerging destination for potential investments. For these reasons, our country is an attractive destination, which is in the most important rankings of tourism destinations recommended to be visited in 2018. I am sure that Moldova will go up several positions in these rankings in the near future, as the government of Moldova pays a more and more increased attention to this sector of the national economy,” Chiril Gaburici noted.
Last week, Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici signed with Romania an agreement which regards, in particular, the launch of the first tourism route Romania-Moldova till the end of this year. Also, the two countries agreed on Moldova’s inclusion in the tourist routes of Romania on the digital map, due to be launched next year.
Moldova Business Week is an event organized annually, in order to promote Moldova’s image to attract investments, boost the dialogue between the public and private sectors, enhance the competitiveness of native companies for diversifying and increasing the export capacities.
According to the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, the event brings together about 1,000 representatives of the business environment from Moldova and another 30 countries, authorities, development partners, experts in the field.
