Over 48 thousand medical employees to get higher wages in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ – The doctors and healthcare workers in Moldova, paid from the National Medicines Insurance Company (CNAM) budget, will receive higher wages from December 2018. The salaries of doctors will increase by 20 per cent, and medical staff – by 10 per cent. The Government has approved today a decision to increase the remuneration, including for administrative – household staff in medical institutions, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, if at present family doctors with a working term of up to 10 years have a salary of MDL 5,210, according to the new provisions this will increase up to MDL 6,510. For doctors in pre – hospital emergency care, with a similar internship, the salary will increase from MDL 4,160 to MDL 5,200. Other categories of doctors will also benefit from the same increases, including: pharmacists from the districts of Moldova, laborers and psychologists. The project also includes increases of 10 – 50 per cent for Aviasan employees.

Also, in order to motivate resident doctors to work in the field, their salary was increased by 2.5 times: from MDL 2,080 to MDL 5,200, during the period of the residency programme.

The financial means necessary for implementation of the project are provided in the mandatory healthcare insurance funds for 2019.

Previously, as a result of the reform of the wage system in the budgetary sector, there were also increased salaries of medical employees funded from the state budget.
