Mechanism of registration of transport units in Transnistrian region to be extended over other settlements too

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - The mechanism of registration of transport units with neutral numbers from the Transnistrian region will be extended also over other settlements which are not under the jurisdiction of the constitutional authorities and are placed on the right bank of Dniester. The government today approved a draft law to this effect.

Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici said that the concerned settlements were Gasca, Chitcani, Zahorna, Merenesti and Cremenciug from the eastern Causeni district.

The draft was proposed by a group of lawmakers as legislative initiative.

Starting from 1 September 2018, as a result of the agreements within the dialogue of negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, two points for registration of transport means from the Transnistrian region were opened in the Tiraspol and Rabnita cities. At these points, owners of vehicles from the Transnistrian region can apply for neutral plates, in order to be allowed to the international traffic.
