Moldovan PM, friendship group of Ukrainian parliament discuss bilateral relations

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met members of the parliamentary friendship group of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament), on a visit to Moldova. The PM expressed concern about the escalation of the tensions between Kiev and Moscow. Filip noted that Moldova condemned Russia’s unilateral and provocative actions and was by the side of the Kiev authorities in their steps of defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Ukrainian lawmakers appreciated Moldova’s firm position on this issue. At the same time, they thanked Prime Minister Pavel Filip for participation in actions of commemorating the victims of Holodomor (man-made famine in the Soviet Ukraine).
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the sides stressed the open and friendly character of the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations, which provided more results in the bilateral cooperation. To further develop the dialogue between the sides, a concrete plan of measures is implemented for each sector separately. Thus, today beginning with 13:00, a bridge across the Dniester river between the settlements Unguri and Bronnytsia was opened, and till late 2018, a new joint crossing–border point Palanca-Mayaki-Udobnoye is to be made available for use.
The sides exchanged opinions also on other joint projects, such as: work of the Dnestrian hydro-electric power complex, protection of the ecosystem and sustainable development of the Dniester river’s basin.
