Finance minister put forward for office of governor of National Bank of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today put forward Finance Minister Octavian Armasu for the office of governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).
According to Candu, the candidate coming to replace Sergiu Cioclea must be fit.
“Octavian Armasu has proved the qualities he has as Finance Minister. Moreover, Armasu and Cioclea were partners in the cooperation with our country’s international partners. He is a professional. He also proved good abilities of manager. From the financial and budgetary viewpoint, we are in a good situation again. He managed, with the team of the Finance Ministry, to get everything which means public money to a high level. He has a special experience both in the private sector and in the public sector. He is known by international partners, with whom he is to cooperate in continuation. I hope very much that the parliament will give its agreement today and we will thus manage to approve and appoint Mr. Armasu as governor,” Candu said.
Octavian Armasu is 49 years old and was appointed finance minister in the Filip Government in January 2016. Earlier, Armasu had held the position of financial director of the Südzucker Moldova Company.
