Drivers with neutral registration plates must have MD distinctive sign applied on vehicle in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Drivers moving with neutral registration plates in Moldova are obliged to have the state’s distinctive sign MD applied on their vehicles, according to the Traffic Regulations.
In this respect, employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) carry out an action of distributing transfer pictures. The signs were provided by the OSCE Mission in Moldova free of charge.
Under the legislation in force, drivers moving in Moldova with neutral registration numbers and who do not have the MD sign on the car run the risk of being fined with 150-300 lei, with imposing of two penalty points.
The owners of vehicles from the Transnistrian region have received neutral plates and were allowed to the international traffic starting from 1 September this year. The decision on participation of vehicles from the Transnistrian region in the international road traffic was signed by the political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement on 24 April 2018.
