Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- Ungheni district will benefit from a new European road. It will ensure the connection of 20 localities to the national road network. Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici made the statement at a meeting with mayors from Ungheni district.
The Corneşti-Boghenii-Noi-Nuppeni M5 road, which is over 34 km long, will be redesigned as soon as possible and will be resubmitted to the auction. The decision was taken after the contract with the contractor who would carry out the works was cancelled, as after the expiry of 78% of the time reserved for the implementation of the project, only 2% of the works were executed. The World Bank will provide credit line for road construction. Work is expected to begin in 2019 spring, as soon as weather conditions are favorable.
"The Corneşti-Bogheni-Noi-Năpădeni M5 route provides access for local inhabitants to 31 educational institutions, 10 medical institutions, tourist attractions, railway station and 28 enterprises. This road is very important for the region and I will personally see that it is done qualitatively and on time," he said.
Mayors shared ideas for projects to develop infrastructure, water supply systems and create new jobs.
