Moldovan legislature makes changes to legislation on pharmaceutical activity

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ – The pharmaceutical warehouses and open – circuit pharmacies will be required to have a minimum range of medicines for outpatient use. A draft law was adopted in a final reading with the vote of 55 MPs.
The draft stipulates that the Government will periodically approve the minimum range of essential and vital medicines intended for outpatient use, which will require mandatory pharmaceutical stores and open – circuit pharmacies.
Similarly, the Moldovan citizens, foreigners and stateless persons will have the right to be insured in emergency with medicines by any pharmaceutical or curative – prophylactic unit, irrespective of the type of property and subordination, and if necessary to be insured with medicines intended for the treatment of patients with rare diseases.
Other changes stipulate that medical – sanitary institutions can only set up closed – circuit pharmacies. Also, the holder of a medicine use authorisation and distributors of that medicine, effectively placed on the market in Moldova, ensure, within the limits of their responsibilities, adequate and continuous stocks of that medicine to pharmacies and medical institutions, so that the needs of patients in Moldova to be covered.
The new regulations will enter into force six months after the date of publication.
