Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ – The right to monthly childcare allowance up to the age of three may be offered to the insured person at his option. A draft law in this regard was adopted in final reading by Parliament today.
The new regulations stipulate that parents will have two options for granting a monthly childcare allowance. A variation implies that the payment is to be paid from the date of granting the leave until the age of three, and the second option implies that the allowance is paid until the child has reached the age of two.
The monthly amount of the child – raising allowance in the first case will be 30 per cent of the calculation basis for each child, but not less than the minimum monthly allowance, and will be paid for three years. For payment of the indemnity, it will be paid within 60 per cent of the calculation base up to one year of the child and within 30 per cent of calculation basis will be paid later.
The option originally requested for childcare allowance can not be changed then.
The amendments stipulate that if the mother or father of the child gets employed, resumes work or is released before the expiry of the childcare leave, the monthly wage payment is not suspended until the expiry of that leave.
