Social services for children with deviant behaviour to be established in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ – The minors who have committed a criminal or contraventional act but are not liable for criminal and contravention liability will benefit from the assistance of psychologists. A draft law stipulating this was adopted in final reading today.
The project regulates measures and services for children with deviant behaviour. These involve the provision of qualified social, pedagogical, psychological, informational or other type of child support for making positive changes in behaviour. The creating favourable conditions for socialisation, resocialisation and development of minor, learning general human values, educating sense of equality, responsibility for their own deeds, respect for human rights and freedoms, encouraging the desire for social integration.
The measures aimed at children with deviant behaviour will be specialised supervision, placement in guardianship/guardianship or family type, placement in the residential service or placement in the highly specialised residential service.
Also, in the educational institution attended by the child with deviant behaviour, it will be formed the school group for preventive activities, consisting of director or deputy director, class master, other teachers and the school psychologist.
