Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ – Premier, Pavel Filip, visited today the elevator for the drying, cleaning and storage of cereals in Donduseni city. An investment of MDL 62 million was made for opening of the enterprise. The elevator started operating in 2016 and it is equipped with automated systems that allow up to 1,200 tons of grains to be processed per day. At the same time, the company is the largest producer of sugar beet in the north of Moldova, this year having a harvest of 55 tons, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The Head of the Executive mentioned the importance of implementing modern technologies in the agricultural sector, in order to obtain qualitative products, which correspond to the European requirements. "The agricultural system is made up of the scientific, research and then direct practice. We pay more attention to practice, but we also need to take into account the scientific side, similar as do the European countries. And then we will have quality and competitive products on the international market," said PM.
The elevator in Donduseni has the capacity to process about 22 thousand tons of grain and can receive the goods for processing both on the railroad and on the road for heavy trucks. For cereal processing, the enterprise uses high quality fertilisers from Russia and Ukraine.
