Situation in Moldova within normal winter limits - relevant services say

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/- Almost all roads in the country are operational, despite the snowfall last night. The relevant services say they ensured all national and international routes with anti-skid material, according to sources in the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.

In the following days, no precipitation is expected in the country, but the ministry officials say that "winter began in the calendar, which means all relevant institutions are ready to cope with any weather."

At the same time, the rescuers warn of elementary precautions in winter.

Most affected physically by lowering the air temperature and humidity in winter are children, the elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases – rheumatism, asthma, heart diseases,” the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said.

"Low temperatures and atmospheric pressure can make victims among the elderly and the cardiac. To avoid the cold effects, patients with cardiovascular disease should avoid leaving the house early in the morning and late in the evening, when the air temperatures are very low,” doctors warn.
