Families with newborns to get boxes of necessary goods at birth

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/- Families in the country will get starting today boxes of goods needed at birth for every newborn within the campaign launched by the government - A New Life.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Silvia Radu today handed the first boxes of goods to the Municipal Hospital No.1.

In December, 2,842 boxes will be allocated to all maternities in the country so that all families can benefit from newborn boxes.

"We hope that through this initiative we will increase the birth rate in the Republic of Moldova, offering additional help to families with children", Radu said.

In 2017, over 30 thousand children were born in the Republic of Moldova. The practice of donation of boxes at birth is implemented in several countries around the world, given that the goods included are from local producers.
