Chisinau, 03 December /MOLDPRES/ – Over 350 drivers have been documented and sanctioned by patrol officers for installing xenon headlights on cars, limiting the visibility of other drivers.
The National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) reminds drivers that it is forbidden to drive cars with xenon headlamps mounted illegally, except for those installed by the factory manufacturer.
Interviewed by agency, the press officer of INP, Natalia Golovco, said that the provision of cars with this type of headlamps in auto services of Moldova may be uncertain, and the lighting fixtures may not meet the norms. "The illegal installation of xenon headlights is one of the causes of road accidents both day and night because the light flow limits the visibility of other drivers. In Moldova, installing this type of headlamps is forbidden throughout the year," said Golovco.
The drivers risk fines from MDL 150 – 300 for installation of xenon lights.
