Moldovan SP pays working visit to USA

Chisinau, 04 December /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, is paying a working visit to Washington on 04 – 08 December 2018, at the invitation of the United States Congress, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The Speker's agenda includes meetings with senators and congressmen, including co – chairs of the Friendship Group for Moldova, Pete Olson and David Price, meetings with other officials and some interviews for the US press.

Andrian Candu will take part with a speech at the Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum, where he will discuss the risks and challenges of the region as well as the hybrid threats, including in the political context in Chisinau.

The head of the Parliament will also participate in the launch of the Moldova – USA Business Council. The objective of this Council is to promote economic exchanges, support investors and back economic operators in Moldova and the USA.

The SP's recent visit to the USA took place on 25 June 2018. Andrian Candu, together with his counterparts in Georgia and Ukraine, backed by the Lithuanian Speaker and the deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament, discussed with US officials about the security risks generated by the unanswered presence of the Russian troops in the area, hybrid war, human rights, energy security in Eastern Europe, as well as the reforms implemented and the European path of the three states.
