Chisinau municipal authorities make recommendations as to organizing matinees in kindergartens

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/ - The municipal authorities recommend that the leaders of kindergartens from Chisinau opt for another format of organizing matinees, without inviting persons from outside institutions as mascots.

According to the Chisinau Municipal Council’s education, youth and sport general department, the recommendations are meant both to ensure the access of all children to activities organized on the occasion of winter holidays and to prevent illicit collections of money in kindergartens.

The department’s representatives said that all feasts organized in children’s kindergartens were dot regulated in documents of education policies. “The extra-curricular activities on the eve of the New Year holidays represent a finality of topic-related subjects held at institutions. They can be carried out with/or without parents’ participation and the collections of money are banned,” a press release of the department reads.    

The department noted that, to observe the equality between children and not put parents in difficulty, the extra-curricular activities will take place without the invitation of persons from outside the institution, and to ensure surprise moments, such as the presence of Santa Claus, Winter Goddess, Snow Maiden and other mascots and fairy tale characters, children’s parents or the institution’s teachers may be invited to play the concerned parts.     

At a 3 December meeting of the Moldovan capital’s services, Chisinau acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu said that he ”received messages from parents about the collection of money for organizing the winter holidays.” Codreanu asked representatives of the education department “to find alternatives of holding events dedicated to the winter holidays, without collecting taxes for mascots.” An alternative suggested by the local authorities was the involvement of actors from the Licurici puppet theatre.
