More air flights delayed, canceled due to fog in Chisinau

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/- More air flights were delayed and canceled today due to dense fog on the Chisinau International Airport.

According to the airport's official website, flights to Kiev and Istanbul will take off with a delay of almost four hours. Also, this morning flight to Bucharest was canceled.

At the same time, there are almost two hours delays when landing in Bucharest and Istanbul. The morning flights from Lisbon and Dublin were canceled.

Also, because of dense fog, several flights were canceled or delayed in the evening yesterday. Thus, flights to Warsaw, Lisbon, Dublin and Bucharest were canceled. Air operators also canceled two more flights from Bucharest and one from Warsaw. Also, flights from Milan and London were redirected to Iasi airport and two more flights from Moscow and Milan are due to land in Chisinau with a delay of almost 18 hours.

The press officer of the National Patrol Inspectorate, Natalia Golovco, said that road traffic is running under fog, and because the roadway is wet and the temperatures are low, there is a risk of ice forming.

Meteorologist Tatiana Armas said that today, the fog will disappear completely after noon.

"At night, there was fog throughout the country. Currently, it began to disperse and remains only in the central and southern regions of the country. In the coming days, the fog is expected just in some parts of the country. Today, the time will be gloomy, precipitation is forecast in some areas,” Armas said.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the weather is cooling slightly in the coming days. At night, air temperatures will reach -7 degrees Celsius in the north of the country, and during the day +3 degrees Celsius in the south of the country.
