Chisinau's budget for 2019 proposed for public consultation

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The draft budget of the Chisinau municipality for 2019 has been proposed for public consultation.  

According to the Moldovan capital’s city hall, the document sees revenues worth 3.8 billion lei and expenses amounting to 4.24 billion lei.

The budget deficit is 441 million lei. The initiative’s authors suggest that the deficit be covered from loans, grants, donations, sponsorships and other additional sums. At the same time, the reserve fund of the Chisinau municipality was set at 10,000 thousand lei.   

The draft budget provides for the allocation of financial means for carrying out repair works and purchasing equipment for medical and sanitary institutions, education institutions, holding cultural and artistic activities, covering expenses for people moving free of charge in the public transport and providing compensations worth 70 lei monthly to teachers from municipal education institutions for travel in the urban public transport.  

The budget also sees sums for covering the staff expenditures, providing nourishment to children in education institutions, payment of compensations for heating dwellings, maintenance, repair and arrangement of housing and utility objects. Also, budget allocations are provided for public transport and roads’ management.  

Under the document, decision-makers accepted the initiation of the procedure of liquidation of the municipal puppet show, one-man show and the municipal enterprise, Binefacatorul (The Benefactor).    

Proposals for the draft municipal budget can be submitted till 14 December.
