Moldovan – American relations' dynamics discussed by foreign minister with Deputy Assistant of US Secretary of State

Chisinau, 05 December /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, and the Deputy Assistant for European and Eurasian Affairs of US Secretary of State, George P. Kent, have discussed the advancement of the bilateral political dialogue, sectoral cooperation, financial assistance provided to Moldova throughout the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as well as other issues of common interest, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.

In the dialogue, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi specified the amplification of bilateral political dialogue at both governmental and legislative levels, which, according to the head of Moldovan diplomacy, has contributed to a better configuration of cooperation of Moldova and USA. The interlocutors touched on the priorities for capitalising on the Moldovan – US Strategic Dialogue in 2019.

Also, the discussion highlighted the good cooperation between Moldova and USA in international organisations, especially in the specialised agencies of the United Nations Organisation (UNO). The head of Moldovan diplomacy appreciated the support and assistance of the United States of America in implementing structural reforms in Moldova.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the US reiterated the common interest in enhancing the institutional capacities of Moldova in combating external influence, noting the interest of the Washington administration in developing relations with Moldova, supporting efforts to reform all areas, based on the principles of a democratic state following the rule of law.
