Higher education institutions to be able to set up innovation incubators

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/- The central and local public authorities, as well as the higher education institutions, will be able to set up scientific-technological parks and innovation incubators. The promulgation decree, as well as the law on scientific-technological parks and innovation incubators, will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 7 December.
The new regulations stipulate that the right to build innovation parks and incubators will have not only clusters, but also central and local public authorities, associations created by association agreement, higher education institutions.
The creation of scientific-technological parks and innovation incubators will be simplified, and residents will benefit from more incentives. The state, through central and local authorities, will offer free-of-charge public property for the creation and development of the science and technology park and / or the innovation incubator.
Within the science and technology parks and innovation incubators innovative products will be worked out and manufactured, the economic agents involved in the implementation of the research results and the acquisition of new technologies will be supported, investments will be made for new projects.
The new provisions will come into force after the expiry of nine months from the date of publication. The government within six months from the date of publication will bring its legislation in accordance with this law and prepare necessary regulations for its implementation.
