Moldovan economic agents to be required by law to collect waste from activity

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/- Traders will be required by law to collect waste from their work. The promulgation decree and the law amending Law no. 231/2010 on internal trade will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova tomorrow. The new provisions will come into force for more than half a year.

Under the amendments in legislation, local councils may have the right to lay down prohibitions and requirements on waste management by trade units operating on the territory of the local public authority.

At the same time, the traders will be obliged to ensure the collection, storage and transportation of waste resulting from trade activity on their behalf.

The new law will enter into force six months after its publication in the Official Journal of Moldova. In this period, the government and local public administration authorities shall bring their normative acts in accordance with this law.
