Consultations on draft declaration concerning Transnistrian file held in Milan

Chisinau, 06 December /MOLDPRES/ – On 05 – 06 December, in Milan, Italy, there have been held consultations on the draft Declaration on Transnistrian settlement negotiations with the participation of the Moldovan delegation headed by deputy PM for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, and the representatives of the mediators and observers within negotiation format 5+2, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.

During the official meetings, there were highlighted positions regarding the evolutions of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, as well as the main points of the Final Declaration. The talks were facilitated by the delegation of the Italian Presidency to the OSCE, with participation of special representatives of Russia, Ukraine, USA and EU.

The OSCE member states have reached a consensus on the text of the Declaration on Transnistrian settlement negotiations in format 5+2, under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the OSCE, to be carried out during 2018 and its text to be approved during the last session of the 25th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OSCE States to be held on 07 December 2018.

The Draft Transnistrian Declaration Statement will assess the achievements and substantial progress made with contribution of the authorities in Chisinau to the negotiating process during the Presidency – in – Office held by Italy in 2018.
