Chisinau-based cultural centre launches screenings of movies made by Moldovan directors

Chisinau, 07 December /MOLDPRES/ – A series of film projections by local filmmakers, coproduced with Studio Moldova Film, was launched at the Cultural Centre Odeon in Chisinau today.
Interviewed by agency, head of institution, Lilia Rusu, said that the project started with film: Ultima zi din mai (The last day of May), debut of director Igor Kistol. The film is based on Oleg Volcu & Artefact Films, co – produced by Youbesc Creative Institute, Milk Films and Moldova Film.
The cast includes actors: Valeriu Andriuta, Dana Ciobanu, Tudor Andronachi Olga Gutu – Cucu, Elena Margineanu, Vanessa Erica Andriuta, Victor Nofit, Vitalie Tataru, Igor Kistol. The picture is signed by Roman Cantar. Scenography and costumes – Mariana Stefanet, music by Maria Afanasiev, Anatol Stefanet and Dorin Buldum, sound – Radu Bostan, Vsevolod Vedyakin Roman board. The script is signed by Igor Kistol and Valeriu Andriuta.
The last day of May was nominated for the NIKA awards, category: The best film of CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. The world premiere of the film took place on 25 May at the Berlin International Film Festival.
According to director, Igor Kistol, the film addresses the issue of migration. Angela, the main character of the film, returns to her native locality in Moldova with current Italian husband, Marco, in order to take her two daughters with her to Italy who remained in their father's tutelage.
On 08 December, the film lovers are invited to an evening of screenings of three short films made by young director Igor Sadovski: Flutulus, Canon 25 and Spectrum. The project will continue with other films made by directors from Moldova.
