Moldovan deputy premier has meetings with EU commissioner, foreign minister of Austria in Vienna

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca has paid a working visit to Vienna, where he participated in the Annual Conference of the Eastern Partnership, titled, A Stronger Economy for Stronger Societies – Investing in People for Sustainable Growth, organized on the sidelines of the Austrian presidency of the European Union. At the event, the deputy prime minister had meetings with European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria Karin Kneissl, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In discussions held with Johannes Hahn, the deputy prime minister set Moldova’s priorities in the context of the European aspirations. He stressed the progress made by Moldova in carrying out the latter, informed about the present challenges and thanked for support provided to the country to implement the democratic reforms.
At the same time, the Moldovan official exchanged opinions with Foreign Affairs Minister of Austria Karin Kneissl on the latest developments in the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, prospects of the Moldova-EU relations, as well as the key elements of the bilateral agenda: political dialogue and commercial and economic exchange between Moldova and Austria.
In his capacity of panelist in the Eastern Partnership Conference 2018 on the subject of providing the needs of economic operators and competences with qualified experts, the deputy prime minister for European integration informed about the reform of the vocational education sector, efforts to ensure a solid and transparent business climate in Moldova, as well as about other sectoral reforms in the concerned field, implemented in Moldova.
