Moldovan PM says issue to be not lack of money, but poor administration

Chisinau, 07 December /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has discussed today with the inhabitants of villages Peresecina and Camenas in Orhei district. The people talked about the problems they face and called for the support of Government to overcome them. The dialogue was a sincere and productive one, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip said that many of the issues addressed are common to all localities: lack of water and sanitation systems, waste management, poor condition of roads, etc. "Our problem is not the lack of money but the bad administration," said PM. Over the years, more money has been distributed from the Ecologic Fund (FE), some amount for each locality, but none of it has been used.
That is why the Government has now come up with a systemic approach. Soon, there will be approved master plans for the construction of water and sanitation systems in localities, but also for solid waste management. "It is a shame that in the 21st century we do not have water and sanitation systems in localities," said Pavel Filip. Also, it was launched programme: The good roads for Moldova for the repair of local roads. Until now, there have been repaired 1,600 km of local roads, with MDL 1 billion 600 million invested for it. At the same time, the programme has been extended to 2019.
The PM also referred to other reforms made by the Government to increase the economy and the standard of living of population. Among them, there are: pension reform, payroll, tax reform, customs, but also improvement of the business environment. Due to the increase in tax receipts, the budget has been raised by extra MDL 2 billion. Similarly, total revenues in the budget have accrued MDL 4 billion more than the planned amount.
Another topic related to the results recorded in the field of education, where the salaries of teachers were increased by 22.8 per cent and allowance for young specialists has increased up to MDL 120,000. "The salary is still small, but it is a step forward. We will be rich if we have a strong educational system," said Premier.
During the discussions, it was also addressed the issue of small pensions for the persons with disabilities. The PM promised that they would be increased in the nearest future: "We have to intervene and remove this injustice, throughout essential increases in disability pension."
