Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - A post of rescuers and firemen was inaugurated in the Ucrainca settlement, south-east Causeni district on 7 December. The station will provide safety to 1,700 residents from two villages.
The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Puscasu, has said that the post was opened by the aforementioned inspectorate in cooperation with the first- and second-level local public authorities within the programme on strengthening the service of rescuers and foremen in Moldova’s rural settlements.
According to Puscasu, at the official ceremony of the station’s opening, the IGSU management provided a special Zil-type vehicle to the firemen due to work at this post.
IGSU said that the distance between the settlements Ucrainca and Zviozdocica and the Causeni-based Emergency Situations Department was 40 km. Respectively, the station will shorten the response time and will ensure the security of the citizens from both settlements.
