Number of cases of viruses increased in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/- About 3,000 people in the capital arrived last week in public medical institutions with acute respiratory infections. The representative of the Social Assistance and Health Directorate, Violeta Balta, made the statement today.
According to the data, the number of cases of viruses increased by 4.4% compared to last week, when 2,850 cases were recorded.
"Most affected are children up to 4 years of age, with 1015 cases reported. Other 842 cases were reported in children aged 5 to 14 years. Of all patients, 65 were hospitalized. At the same time, the flu vaccination of people at high risk of infection is going on at the medical institutions," Balta said.
Last week, in the capital, there were 10 cases of tuberculosis, 217 cases of pneumonia and two cases of drug poisoning. Also, in the same period, over 300 people went to the doctor with infectious diseases and intoxications.
