Moldovan president signs decree appointing new minister of finance

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ – Ion Chicu was appointed Minister of Finance. He has taken the oath to the state residence today in the presence of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Chief of State, Igor Dodon.
The President of Moldova has specified that he signed the appointment decree of appointing Ion Chicu without any doubt because he is a true professional and technocrat.
PM Pavel Filip has said that Chicu is the most suitable person to take over as Finance Minister, he thanked former Minister Octavian Armasu for his prodigious job in the government and wanted him to be a good governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).
Ion Chicu is 46, he is a father of three children, has economic studies and over the years has held several leading positions, including deputy Minister of Finance.
