Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/- The deputy head of the Liberal Party, Valeriu Munteanu announced today he is leaving the party and will support the ACUM block in parliamentary elections.
Munteanu says he took the decision to withdraw from the party as a protest to the fact that the current PL leadership refused to participate along with the ACUM block in the parliamentary elections in February 2019. He said he would not adhere to any political party in the near future.
He said he has been part of PL for 11 years, and thanked his colleagues for support.
The current PL leader Dorin Chirtoaca wrote on his website that the information presented by Munteanu that there is a PL's refusal to participate alongside ACUM block in elections is a false one. "At the 1 December Congress, a meeting of PL Republican Council was scheduled for 16 December at 10:00, where several decisions will be taken: formation of political office, election of deputy heads and way of participation in elections. All views will be presented by members of the Republican Council at the meeting on Sunday, in which the final decision will be taken," he said.
