Commemorative exhibition by fine artist Eugenia Maleșevschi inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/- A commemorative exhibition of graphics and painting entitled "Eugenia Maleşevschi - 150 Years of Birth" was inaugurated yesterday at the National Art Museum of Moldova.
More than 30 paintings and graphics from the collection of the nominated museum are presented in the exhibition.
According to the organizers, Eugenia Maleşevschi, a disciple of famous Ilia Repin, is part of the plethora of Basarabian art representatives who have determined the course of artistic life in the country.
Maleşevschi was born on 10 December 1868 in Harbuţani, Soroca.
In 1915 she exhibited 90 works at the painting exhibition of Bessarabian painters in Chisinau and in 1920 she exhibited 18 works at the painting and sculpture exhibition, which included the works of Gheorghe Pojedaev.
The painter's works are also preserved in the funds of the National Art Museum of Romania and the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
The exhibition will be open until 12 January 2019.
