Moldovan, Azeri foreign affairs ministers discuss bilateral cooperation in Baku

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The deepening of the political dialogue between Moldova and Azerbaijan, in order to boost the bilateral relations, optimization of the cooperation in the commercial and economic sectors, interaction in the cultural and humanitarian field, cooperation within international and regional organizations have been discussed at a meeting between the foreign affairs ministers of the two countries, Tudor Ulianovschi and Elmar Mammadyarov, respectively, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
At the meeting, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi reiterated the importance to strengthen joint efforts to settle the frozen conflicts, with the observance of both states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity. In the context, the Moldovan diplomacy head thanked the Azeri side for the support of the UN Resolution on Withdrawal of Foreign Military Forces from the territory of Moldova, adopted by the General Assembly in June 2018.
For his part, Elmar Mammadyarov confirmed Azeri side’s willingness to deepen the bilateral relations in the sectors of mutual interest, including the energy sector and transports. He stressed that Azerbaijan can provide to partners from Moldova expertise and assistance in the concerned fields.
Ministers Ulianovschi and Mammadyarov also considered possibility to strengthen the bilateral legal basis and agreed on establishing a deeper inter-ministerial dialogue, with the active involvement of experts from the two states.
