Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The decree on promulgation and the law on the amendment of Article 25 of the law on the status of the MP have been published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The new legislative amendments see that the office of assistant will be replaced by an annual budget, due to be provided to the lawmaker for ensuring the work in exercising the mandate. At the same time, the MPs will have possibility to contract personal assistants, experts in diverse sectors, according to the requirements and needs of activity in the legislative process. Also, the lawmakers could be helped by a voluntary assistant in their activity.
The amendments were made in the context of the process of modernization of public institutions – a commitment contained in the strategy of public administration reform for 2016-2020 and in accordance with the good practices and experience of the parliaments of the EU member states.
The provisions will enter into force on 1 March 2019, in the new convocation of the parliament.
