Accession to European Union as only country plan, Moldovan PM says

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/- The Association Agreement with the European Union remains our top book, and joining the EU is our only plan and our only option. Prime Minister Pavel Filip made the statement unveiling today to the parliament the Government Program of Activity for 2016-2018.

The official expressed confidence “there are no other ways to follow”. “We want to build, together with the member countries, a European country, here at home, with a high standard of living and European citizens. We have excellent relations with our neighbors in Bucharest and Kiev. We have recently discussed with Bucharest government about the joint infrastructure interconnection projects and we were committed to creating a common and interconnected space in terms of communications, transport, energy, security, education, environment, culture," he said.

At the same time, the official also broached the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. “This year, we have repeatedly asked for withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of our country. We also allocated 15 million lei for the development of schools and infrastructure in the Transnistrian region, including 100,000 lei for the eight schools with Romanian language teaching,” he said.
