Moldova, Turkey to have Strategic Cooperation Council

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Turkey will have a Strategic Cooperation Council. The parliament today ratified the Joint Declaration on the setting up of the Council, signed in Chisinau on 17 October 2018.
Under the document, the Council will be co-chaired by Moldova’s government and president of Turkey. The Council will establish the strategy of development of relations in the political and military sectors, fields of security, economy, trade, energy, transports, agriculture, tourism, tourism, health, culture, science and humanitarian sector. A joint group of strategic planning, co-chaired by the two countries’ foreign affairs ministers, will be created within the Council.
The new structure will contribute to the deepening and diversification of cooperation with Turkey, boosting the economic ties, developing the regional and international cooperation, as well as raising the Moldovan-Turkish relations to the level of strategic partnership.
