Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Parents could register children in creches or kindergartens starting the age of two years, according to amendments to the Education Code, published in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
Earlier, the state has financed the early education services for children from the age of 3 till 6 years. The initiative will provide access to education services, especially for children from socially vulnerable families. At the same time, due to the fact that these services will be accessible for children from the age of 2 years, parents will have possibility to easier get employed, the document’s authors noted.
The state will gradually ensure the development of education services, depending on the level of education and places available at early education institutions, as well as on the financial means provided for to this end. Presently, about 800 such institutions from Moldova are prepared or are in process of adaptation of the infrastructure, in order to receive a half of the pupils of the age of 2-3 years. Financial means were envisaged for these children in the national public budget starting from 2019.
The presidential decree on the promulgation of the legislative amendments in this respect was published in the same issue of the Official Journal.
