Moldovan parliament appoints deputy president of Court of Accounts

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The former director of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Viorel Chetraru, was appointed deputy president of the Court of Accounts today. Fifty five MPs voted for Chetraru’s candidacy.
Chetraru was CNA director during 2012-2017 and has recently won a contest for the vacant position of member of Moldova’s Court of Accounts. He was appointed for a five-year period.
The office of deputy president and member of the Court of Accounts became vacant after Tamara Andrusca had resigned from post.
Also today, the parliament appointed Victor Lascov to the office of deputy director of the National Anticorruption Centre. He has earlier acted as head of the Anti-Cartel Department at the Competition Council.
Also, the parliament approved the ceasing of the mandates of directors of the administrative board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency of Tudor Copaci, Sergiu Ciobanu and Octavian Lungu as of 1 March 2019, based on the applications on resignation. The parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances is to announce the organization of a public contest for selecting candidates.
